Today we left Austin after a visit to the art festival and farmers market. It's a long drive to Big Bend National Park. We're now about 100 miles away after logging about 340 miles today. We stopped at a rest area west of Fredricksburg for a quick lunch of farmers' market goodies.

At dinner in Ozona we talked with a couple from Houston who'd just spent a long weekend in BBNP and Marfa (one of our future stops). Further, they're both from Atlanta, are UGA and Tech grads and were married in downtown Decatur. Small world? Yes! Great to hear their insights on Texas' economy, BBNP conditions & trails and lots of other fun facts.

Perplexing sight of the day: Limos on country roads in west Texas.
Interesting sight of the day: Huge windfarms between Ozona and Fort Stockton. Wind provides >8% of Texas' electricity.
